Signs It’s Time To Replace Your Ride

October 2nd, 2017 by

Is your vehicle starting to cost you more money than it’s worth? Then it may be time to replace it.  Below are a few warning signs to look for when contemplating the idea of vehicle replacement.

The Engine Overheats

An engine overheating is certainly a red flag. They are not designed to withstand excessively hot temperatures. What’s happening is that the gaskets are being squished. This increases the likelihood of a blown head gasket or cracked hood. If your vehicle is frequently overheating, it might be time to trade in for a new one!

Repairs & Maintenance Cost More Than The Vehicle’s Value

If you are spending a lot of money on maintenance and repairs, it doesn’t really make sense to keep the vehicle. Putting $2,000 into fixing a car that is worth only $1,500, is wasting your money. In most cases, it would be better to purchase a newer vehicle.

It Fails Emission Tests

Many Cities and regions throughout the United States require motorist to pass an annual emissions test with each vehicle. If your vehicle fails this test, you will not be able to renew your tag.

Safety Is At Risk

Even the most well designed and engineered vehicles eventually fall apart. Safety is one thing you cannot risk. If your car isn’t safe, you shouldn’t drive it. It’s that simple. Driving around an unsafe vehicle not only places you at serious risks, but others as well.
