When you’re driving around in the summer heat, nothing is worse than when you turn on the air conditioner and it’s not blowing cold air. There are a few different things that could be wrong, and will require vehicle air conditioning maintenance.
Compressor: In some cases, the air conditioning compressor might not engaging. This happens if there’s an electrical issue in the compressor circuit or clutch, the Freon levels might be low, or your vehicle could be overheating. Another reason this happens is that the AC is one of the first systems turned off my the vehicle’s computer if it senses an engine problem. Tee problematic part can be replaced by a service technician.
Charge: A common cause of vehicle air conditioning problems is that it needs to be recharged. You can recharge the refrigerant, or you can bring it to our service center, and a tech can have your cold air blowing again.
Freon Leak: Freon is the chemical in your vehicle that cools the air. If the system is leaking, the Freon will run low and eventually run out. In this case, the service department will repair the system and replace the Freon.
